    GP1200R seems very slow!!

My brother bought a 2000 GPR with right under 100hrs. Great shape with a ton of mods. They include:

    -Basically Stage II RIVA
    -Flow restrictor valve

Not sure what pitch impeller is on it, but it is a Solas. I was thinking it was a 13/19, but not 100% sure.
It also has a RIVA extended steering nozzle and has extensions welded on the Riva ride plate and trim tabs.

He took it out a couple weeks back and tried a top speed run with my buddy's GPS and could only get like 54MPH. What the heck could be wrong with it? It seems like it have decent acceleration, but my GP1200 can run neck and neck with it and might possibly have a better holeshot than his. He bought it with all mods back in December, so not much ride time on it yet.

What do you guys think is wrong with it? The guy he bought it from had it setup to use as a backup race ski.

Forgot to mention, but it also has a UMI steering stem, and it doesn't turn in the water as good as my GP. It feels like the front end is pushing or something. Doesn't turn sharp at speed at all. Would the extended nozzle cause that? And it does have a drop nozzle kit.

WaterWoody, I'll try to give you a call tomorrow.
