    K&N air filter

    does anyone know the dimesnions of the air filter that riva has on their air intake kit?

    I don`t know the dimensions, but the filter is dry right? and the K&N would be oil soaked, is that what you want to do?...PR...

    doesn't the riva set up have the k&n filter?

    I think it is dry, not red oil soaked like the cars. My R&D cotton gauze wire mesh filter which is the same thing is dry...PR...

    I wonder what makes a difference if it's dry or oiled? i guess you encounter less dust in a marine application. That oil has a tendency to foul sensors and such up if not applied properly.

    01xdime: I don`t think that`s the reason, I think it has to do with being flamable, in a closed enviroment. maybe!?...PR...

    Very possible. I'll now proceed to to flamability testing on K&N filter oil. If i don't post back i burned my house down. If i do, then at least i save the computer.

    My Riva filter is dry, plus with the pre-filter\outerwear thingy, there's really no chance of anything getting through it...the actual filter length is 6 1/2 inches,not sure of diameter...
