    PDI'ing an Ultra 250

Just bought an Ultra 250 to be shipped in Kawi Crate to the Carribean.

The crate is huge, my freight forwarder says its 397 Cubic Feet

Whats involved in getting from the crate to the water?

    Oil, Battery Acid or Assembly?

I suggest you order a service manual and then you can just do the servicing according to the manual. That is the safe way to make sure you do everything correct. From the way my dealer serviced mine I feel that I could have done a better job had I had the manual.

The crate is huge, I thought a small car was in it.

The ski is held to the crate by 3 straps and a metal plate that bolts to the ride plate via 2 long bolts. The hardware kit will have the correct bolts to replace these with. I can't remember on the oil but I think it already had it, easy enough to check. The battery will need to be filled with acid and installed. The handlebars and handlebar pad will have to be assembled.

The 24 ultras we got have oil straight from the crate.

When you activate the MF battery, let it stand for one hour without the cap strip after pouring in the supplied battery solution. Immediately charge the battery after the 1 hour stand period. Place the cap strip loosely over the holes while charging then press firmly to seal it after it is fully charged.

Doesn't the Ultra come with a sealed battery? They are prefilled and only have to be charged (if needed)

Yup it comes with a maintenance free battery. Not prefilled. You have to activate it first. Once activated with the supplied solution, the battery then needs to be charged.
