    IC ??? Spearco vs. Riva

Jerry does the Riva IC look like the Spearco you got from Mexico?

Do you remember any differances between the two?

I remember the Spearco slowed you down right?

    Thanks

    David

the Spearco was smaller than the riva and yes, it slowed me down.

Hopefully i will get to text the RR vs. the Riva this weekend if all goes well.

Sorry for making you guys wait so long.

i spoke with mark on the phone yesterday... i don't know what he would say about the RXP ECU in ur GTX... but he told me not to install the RR ECU in my RXT without having an intercooler as it will hurt performance more than give me the real gains it should deliver.

So i guess i need an intercooler sooner than i thought

The only thing that sucks about the RR IC is the smaller inlet.

Maybe in theory it could slow down the air some, which would let it cool, more than, if it passed over the coils faster??

I read an article that stated this in the case of an 8 p.si. charger vs. a 30 p.s.i. charger.

What they found is that larger fins that caused more restriction was better in the case of higher boost pressures because it caused the air to cool more than an intercooler that had less restriction. (Did that make sense?)

The faster the air flowed over the coils the less it cools, so in some cases a restrictive IC is good. In our case, I do not think that it is the case as we are dealing with low pressure that is already moving slow in comparison to a 30psi charge.

I suppose we will see when Jerry gets his testing done

PR, i would definately add the intercooler to your setup. It will make a night and day difference.
