There are instructions on this site; they seem fairly easy (but it's all relative).
I bought my Speedster 150 SCIC at the beginning of January and bought the depth finder as part of the price of the boat, which I'm sure added about $600 to the price. They installed the depth finder back in January, but it was just today, in fact, that they got it working. Strangely, BRP was selling the depth finder, but had not written the ECU update to get it working with the LCD instrument display.
Personally, I regret paying so much for the factory depth finder, when good depth finders can be had for not much more than $100. At the time, I was thinking I just wanted a clean looking dash, but now that I have a GPS mount, stereo remote, etc. around the dash, another display wouldn't have hurt anything.
The trouble you're going to have with your installation is, even if you do it yourself, you have to get the ECU update from the dealer, and I wouldn't be surprised if they try to bend you over for a good $60 to $80 for that five-minute service.

I cant recall excatly but I had the SeaDoo depth gauge installed on a 06 RXT and I think it was alittle more than that. It took them a good three hours to install it.

I think he was saying if you installed it yourself they would still charge you $60-$80 to activate it in the ECU which only takes 5 minutes.

rxpblur I work at a shop in ct. if you want a seadoo one installed let me know or you can go aftermarket. if you try to install the seadoo one yourself don't use the supplied holder it barely works. to many voids so the transducer doesn't read right. easier to mount the transducer direct to the hull.
