03 limited edition need some thoughts

Hey all I hope this doesn't turn into a long story and bore the crap out of you guys but here it is. This last riding season I had installed a Worx intake grate, Opas block off, Solas 15/20 impellar and the nippon denso plugs. After all that I only got maybe arpund 6800 rpm and topped out at 58 mph. Was a rocket launch to 58 and then that is where it stayed. Then all of a sudden on our clubs last ride of the year my RPM's came back to normal and was getting around 63 mph which I was doing in the stock mode. But the Super charger could be heard more than usaual. Everybody thought I put a modification on it the way it wounded but didn't. It was Just a higher supercharger sound than normal if that makes sense to you all. So what do you all think is my superchager about to crater or the clutch fixing to go or what?

well 6800 IS the magic clutch slipping number.. i would get your slipping moment tested. Ski still under warranty?

15/20 Prop is extremely steep for your application. Some stage 2 RXPs have a hard time turning that prop, I can't imagine how your very mildly modified GTX is turning that.

After your rpms came back, what RPMS were u seeing?

    12/20 OR 13/21

that's what you SHOULD be running in your GTX

Is that 15\20 a 4 blade prop? The moment it wouldn`t rev past 6800 I would have had it checked out...PR...

Ditch the steep prop and like Shibby said most definetly check that SC clutch. Thats something you really want to catch before it goes.

The '03 doesn't use ceramic in the clutch. Nothing to disintergrate, the clutch will just slip. I'm really surprised you can turn 6800 rpm with a 15/20. Way too steep for your application. Acceleration wise it would have to be a dog!

    Appreciate it

Thanx all for the expertise. I looked on the solas site and it recommends the 12/20 or the 13/21 what is the difference in these two besides the numbers. HA HA HA Would it be 12/20 hole shot and the 13/21 top end?

not really... kind of depends on your setup. the 12/20 would be best suited for an almost entirely stock machine. if you have a few mods and your RPMS ran a little higher then you can go for the higher pitched 13/21

do you plan on doing further mods to your ski, or not really?

    Mods

As far as Mods for mine would like to stay superficail if that makes sense. I did the Opas block off, worx intake grate, solas impellar. No I guess will have to trade in the impeelar for a different pitch and do the intake thing wheather I build it myself or go with Riva. My mainorginal goal was to increase my speed from 63 mph which it did stock to may 67mph or at least in that neighborhood. I do allot of long distance riding with my watercraft club and gas mileage is the key thing. One thing that really helped was the nippon denso plugs I put in. After I put those plugs in it was almost like having a new ski. Didn't figure that plugs would make that much difference but they do. I got more power and better gas mileage. Maybe if there is an upgrade for the supercharger that would work also. inner cooler would be nice but a big price for those along with the ECU's.
