Thread: GPScape models

I have a few questions about the GPScape models. First, I assume that the craft's speedometer is getting it's information from the wheel near the ride plate? The reason I ask is since there is a built in GPS, wouldn't it be better in terms of accuracy to utilize the GPS for actual speed? I also notice that this ski has a resettable odometer. Does it use the GPS to calculate distance or does it also use the little rideplate wheel? Just curious. Thanks

from the wiring diagram, it appears that Honda uses the speed wheel for speed and distance. Only the GPS for way points and tracking.
thats the best i can figure.
