    Not 40's

after throughly inspecting two sets of slth carbs i've discovered that they are incorrectly listed as having 40mm carbs when in FACT they are 38's,so i've come to the conclusion that no twin cylinder polaris ever came with 40mm carbs stock except maybe the octane.jetting specs listed for slth's is 142 mains 68 pilots, which is what both carbs had and were 38's,and late model twins listed with 40's list jetting as 142 mains 68 pilots, don't see how it's possible that both 40's and 38's would be jetted the same, more than likely it's misprinted in the service manuals as 40 when they are actually 38's

According to the Seloc book, 97 SL700 & 1050 use the 40mm. SLT 700, SL 700 Deluxe, Hurricane, SL900, and SLTX all used 38mm for 97. Maybe this helps?
