    Supercharger Shaft Damage-Coated Metal Washers

When I took the supercharger (05 RXP) apart to rebuild it I saw this. Checked the slip before taking it apart and it was at 50 inlb. The metal washers that were installed are from the Seadoo Centre with 59 hours on them. In both locations where the washers were they wore the shaft. No sign of s/c impeller rubbing on the housing.

All I can see is some wear where the Spring washers sit. The clutch washer rides up against the collar on the shaft, and the other one rides on the thrust washer not in the pic . Do those areas measure too thin or are they grooved?

They are grooved...smaller groove near the collar area.

Im surprised the coated washers lasted that long. Surely you noticed a big reduction in performance with such a low slip moment?

I didnít have any loss in performance. Freak things are going to happenÖ. Iím still putting your metal washers back in with a new shaft. I donít like the way the outside washer is riding on the spline of the shaft. It seems like it should be on a solid surface like the one next to the collar. Maybe its setup that way to transfer heat.
