Exclamation Triple cylinder in an SLH hull??

Not sure if this has been hashed before, but I need some input.
I have access to a 2000 SLH hull in good condition. I'm wondering if double threaded inserts can be epoxied into the hull and used for a triple.

How does this compare to the factory inserts?
How well will it hold up to a factory 1200, or with triple pipes?
I've seen it done before, but would I be better off spending the extra $3k on an SLX?

Any input is welcome. I have about a week to decide.

So you're saying the engine mount locations are different and not just the bed plates from the twins to the triples?

    Yes, that is correct.
I would have to drill and tap the un-used mount locations for the 3-cylinder. Bed plates are identical on all but the MSX 1200(?).

Well that's a drag. It would have seemed from a hull engineering point, have all the hulls the same and just change the bed plate. Hard to believe it wasn't cost effective?........

Yah, four more inserts wouldn't have been more difficult, since they did it on the hurricane. Which by the way is set up to accept a triple

Given the rotational torque load, I don't see why this wouldn't work. But would like some input from the long timers, and see if someone else here has tried it.

The conversion guys are doing it all the time. Mark just installed a new set of mounts so the GPR hull can accept the BRP engine.
It can't be any more difficult and will certainly be doable. I guess the trick will being how well aligned you can get it.

I also just found some bed plates that are front and rear not a single plate. How many sets of mounting holes are in the 1200 cases? I don't have any here to check. A thought anyway.......

    Five total.
I have everything needed to do it, except for the threaded inserts.
I don't think alignment will be difficult, the way the mounting blanks are moulded into the hull.
Damn you Al, now i'm starting to seriously consider this.

    But I have to wonder,.....
I have access to an '01 decal kit.
    A black base/clear paint job.
    New seat cover......

I've also seen where they install the 700 Domestic in the PRO hull, so why not? If they can do it, you should certainly be able to get something to work.
Consider it, it might be kinda trick.

The Pro hull isn't SMC though, right?

I'm fairly certain that Marine-Tex will hold the threaded inserts in. But I want to prove or remove any doubt before proceeding.
