    Who was this?

    I had this pic on my hardrive.
    2 questions:

    1) Does anyone remember who's ski it was?

    2) Is that the fuel pump I see mounted to the bottom of the airbox???

    yep thats the pump i think they did that on the 650's

    That is the auto cock valve. You want to get rid of that. The fuel pump is mounted on the air box next to it.

    Rodney , is that on a 650 i think my 95 sl 650 had that if i remember right , or did all the early models have those .

    That was me!! It was a quick piston replacement on a 1994 SL750. That was a stock single line fuel pump mounted on the airbox (that's factory). There is an autocock also, which was a vacuum operated fuel shut off valve, but it's not pictured.

    Yea, I thought so. Too big to be the autocock.

    So, let me get this right.

    All these older SL's are running around with remote fuel pumps basically strapped to the motor and are being constantly subjected to a non-counterbalanced, triple cylinder engine vibration?

    Is this correct?

    Yup. I think the SL780 finally had it mouted on the hull.

    My 94 650 came with it mounted to the air cleaner via a SS bracket. Crazy A didn't know that? I'm shocked!!!

    So Artie, you're worried the pump vibrates enough to cause an issue?
    Remember you're boys in New York run the stock location even to this day.
    Don't get me wrong I'd rather move it to a better location and have things just peachy.
