rapid's RXPL 1500sc updates
well we did more testing today with the vortex and the RXP pump installed. we upgraded from the scat d75 (148mm) to a RXP (160mm) pump, and installed a 15-19 three blade scat prop and stainless wearring.
man the hookup with that prop and pump in amazing. Way more acceleration then the prevoius setup. water conditions were extremely choppy so a speed run was impossible but i can say i was able to hold 8000 for a short stretch before it got too rough. it did alota porpusing, i think it had to due with the trim rod being a bit short with the RXP pump, causing me to be way on the upper side of the trim scale . just couldn't seam to keep the nose down so a longer trimrod will need to be made. maybe time for a rideplate. im still using the stock 98 plate at the moment. possible a scoop grate of some sort. more tweeking then another testride maybe tues.
im allready wanting to upgrade the vortex for a rotax and some 42's..

Rapidacceleration--If you are going to upgrade your supercharger--just forget about anyone's upgraded wheel. Just go to a Rude SC and 50lb injectors and you will FLY. I just went to this set up--its outa sight.

got to finally open it up yesturday since the vortex and 15-19 threeblade installed
well the holeshot is incredable but......
im running only 7950-8000 @ 74mph (i got the rr ECU)
ive lost 1.6 mph over last year setup
ive running the stock 83mm RXP nozzle.
my boost is only reading a steady 7 psi with the vortex
(should have gone with the RR wheel)
seams i got more outta the stock SC
and fuel mixture is 13.6 at WOT
ive got some 42's coming in today hopfully to correct the AF mixture and richen it up a bit...

OK i know its been a while since the last update.. been busy this summer with work and 4wheelin with the kids and just havn't had much time to mess with the boat.
anyway. Ive been down boost and RPM all summer, but continued to ride it anyway.. i checked everything.
SO i start checking for a boost leak. no leak but..........
I pull off the bottom intercooler hose(my IC sits on its side) and bingo..
Theres a bunch of slimmy crap ooozing from my core due to the first year not running a catch can... YUP A CLOGED IC...
A gallon of paint thinner later my IC was shiney as new.
amazingly the boat now has more POWER and BOOST then ever.
Didn't get GPS numbers due to dead AA batts. but did see 9.8LBS @ 8150.
thats about 2.5lbs more then previously.... and im now tearing up rapidfire's modded RXP (water4fires's old boat 72ish) like i was passing a old sp.... I guess somewhere in the 76-77 range.... definatly now faster then its ever been...
Ill have more numbers by wedsday....

Great report Rapid!I would like to see this whale of a beast. After I recover from World Final's I may have to come down to Travis where its warmer later in the fall and check out your ride.I also have a cousin that lives somewhere near San Marcos maybe Dalhart I think.I would love to show him what fast ski's are all about, and sample Travis,I hear its a great lake!

Daniel that is great to here. If you guys need anything let me know.
Man I remember last year with my son on that 06rxp Ya'll were neck and neck, So you have sure found your problem. I thought your ski was always 75. It gets there like no other.
I will also be on the lake Sat. & Sun. this weekend. If you are gonna be out I will come by and chat.

since the pump upgrade and other crap it never seam to get back to its 75.4 max speed... even after upgrading the sc twice...
it was the ic getting more and more clogged... by the time i put the catch can on a year later it was too late...
guess i learned the importance of a catch can.
anyway its back, and better then ever.
the quest for 80 is back on.
