    More time on the General

Well I went out today for a short peroid of time. I noticed that when after I slowed down to go through a no wake zone, after that I noticed that I would hit the throttle and at top RPM it would all of a sudden bog down to about half RPM and the climbed back to high RPM, It did this for a while. It was kind of like hitting a rev limeter but rpms dropped back a whole lot. Felt like maybe a plug or two was cutting out. So I brought it back home and tore the domes off of it and this is the wash. Any Ideas?

Arrows point to exhaust, exhaust side is on the bottom of the pics.

Top left ... is Mag and Cen

    Top right is Cen

    Bottom is the PTO.

CEN is really rich!!! What do you guys think about the other two. Keep in mind still running mix at 32:1 and still have the 650 CDI in... engine might have 1.5 hours on it.

What is your top RPM and which CDI do you have in there for now? I know you are waiting to put the Pro CDI in. What's with all that silicone? It looks like it's blocking your flow a tiny bit here and there?

The 650 CDI is going to kick in at 6,700 RPM because the 650 was meant to turn 6,300 Rpm's. It's way too low for your pipes.

Not sure what RPM as the tach I have dose not work... The ski is not running and according the the tach it is turning 8050 right now... Yes, still running the 650 CDI. It ran great yesterday, and today untill I hit the no wake zone. after running it at half throttle for a while I was able to open it up to full throttle with no bucking in the RPM. Then later I had to go back through the no wake zone and the same thing happened. Maybe the plugs are loading up and having a hard time clearing up?/???? Not sure. All info will be helpfull.

Fat on the jetting!!! Get the premix at 40:1!!! It is hard to tune when you are running 32:1!!!

Off the subject, I think one of your head gaskets (mag?) is not in it's proper location. It's pictured differently than the other 2, it may have something to do with that cyl. running hotter? And why are you going WOT on 1.5 hr old piston rings? I was told to burn a tank or approx 10hrs before winding her up.

I have always brake engines in the way I plan on riding it. But the key is to vary RPM's. I also have the 650 cdi in so I am not reving it up to the full RPM's yet. I have the head gaskets in there to keep the compression ration down. I plan on removing them at a later time to raise compression as the cyclinders are o-ringed. I guess it is time for some new plugs and a PRO cdi install.

I know you know this already, but you HAVE get a tach on there. It's one of the single most important tool for testing you can have.

Personally, on the jetting, I'd leave it nice and fat for now. You have a lot of figuring out to do still. Leave it nice and safe for a while you break her in and continue to work out any of the little gremlins that pop up.
    Definately get that tach.
