    HELP!!!

OK- took the ski out yesterday, bout half mile from the dock-problems.

    Smoke & low rpm-6400-6700ish. My initial thought=Washers.

Shut her down, wave someone over and unload the lady so i can take it a lil bit and see whats up. Pull off the seat and fire her, S/C sounds fine, everything sounds fine. Still smoke, some oil in the hull.

Decided to take the chance and run her out, max rpm=7700 then Oil warning + smoke.

Bring her back in and tie her up, trailer her home.

Drained oil and it was way low, refilled it, fired it up, no oil leaks i can see, no smoke, runs fine.

yanked off the intake hose, can't spin the S/C inpeller so the washers im sure are fine.

Any ideas? obviouly something somewhere is leaking, but im not sure where. i refilled it, ran it on the hose, and checked the level, all is fine. Let it sit overnight till now, oil level still fine.

    Just confused!

Edit: I did search and found a thread from RustySeaRustyDoo but he lost his washers so i started a new one since i didnt.

Check for oil leaks under the oil cooler and at the driveshaft seal.

stick installed, oil cap installed, no leaks from either.

No visible oil leaks. smokes like the devil if off the hose. Ran it for about 20 secs that way.

Some oil/water in the air intake? Not sure how it got there.

    Pettee.

A little off sublect but why havent you replaced those washers??? We should have removed it while we were in OC So i could take it home.

Just from experience, I strongly suggest you buy those washers now. You dont want to go thru what I did. Especially this close to warm weather.

They are sitting on my end table. I already have them...Just not in.

I dunno what it is. I'll fire her up again on the hose when i get home after work and see what happens.

You are going to hate seeing them sitting on yout end table when something really bad happens. I hope not though. Take that thing out and send it to my house.
