    Old school project

Some pics of my old drag car that is going to become a driver. Trying to keep it streetable but more road race type setup then drag. I am installing a triangulated 4link with coilovers and C5 suspension in the front along with the power rack.

Power train is going to stay close to the same with an aluminum headed big block chevy followed by Richmond 5 speed and 9" ford rear.

My best friend just donated these wheels of of his car to try and get me moving on it. They are to small (17-10, 17-8 ) in my opinion. Think it needs 18/19 by 12s with 335-30 tire rear, 18 by 9 front with a 265-40 in the front.

    What do you guys think?

Duke, I dont know squat about road racing stuff, but here is my opinion. If you are not going to lower the ride heights of the car you definately need a taller wheel in the rear. If you are going to lower the ride heights the rear wheels that are on it may be OK. Its hard to tell without seeing it. Other than that it is a sharp looking car. I am more of a 67-69 or 80's Camaro guy, but that is a good looking T/A.

Car is going to be about that height, maybe a little lower in the front. The front to back spacing was to big. Back wheel looks tiny in the hole.

Something about this particular car has always looked good. When I see other T/As they look outdated and unattractive to me. Plus I've had it for 20 something years. A 69 RS or a 61 Vette would be my next choice if this were gone.

Nice T/A Duke......... I think what you are looking for is to turn your car into a "G Machine". It's when they take and an early model musclecar and setup the suspension and drivetrain to compete with late model sportscars and musclecar. I think this site will help you out

There's a lot of good info on there.
