    Opinions on pump wedge...

Is it a worthwhile mod on the R-12X?

nope, band-aid at best. I've used them testing on both the R and F, but always end up working on the ride plate and removing the wedge after i test.

ive made a few wedges with different degrees. (since 2003)

    Shawn,

Do you have a 2 or 2.5 you'd be willing to part with for a nominal fee?

Several people have reported a 1.5 - 2 mph increase with a 5 degree pump wedge. Is it worth it??? You decide.

    Matt,

Depending on your level of HP the R12 ride plate will give you a nice gain in top speed. But at some level it gets squirrelly when you back off or get a little crossed. the wedge decreases pump thrust because the flow is no longer straight.

There are some new plates coming and soon. for now you could try the R12 if you don't have a bunch of HP. cutting the stock R12x plate helps and is adujustable if you want to do that send it to me, i got 2 to cut now.

Right now we are trying to see the advantage with the high HP Honda skis. (initial results yield several MPH with Stg 1,2 power) Ive got 2 testers on the east coast with My Ride plate and there are 2 more in the Midwest with a different design.. they are waiting the plates to return from the foundry. (we are partners with Nitro STG Kits)

Mine is complete and I'm going out to test this week. The Billet plate i made will need at least 3 more weeks after that. So your schedule is close.

Important thing here is their are 2 different Stg2 groups involved with this and its hard to translate our results with the lower horsepower skis , One would think that our research would help but, Its not a guarantee.

    Hope you understand that.

I can cut your stock plate ($65 + shipping) now which works good for about .4 MPH and adjustably but thats about it.

Sorry. I have to disagree. I easily gained 1 to 1.8mph.

yea, But you are using my Ride plate mod i did for You...

HP Vs results makes you adjust your setup, lower HP skis are very different than the 260+ HP Honda's.

I dont see a stock ski needing a Wedge as J-ME asked.
