    What is consensus of BOV?

    Ok, I read plenty about pros/cons/opinions of the Blow off valve, What is the myth, facts, and gains...

    Is it worthwhile expense or not?
    Is it used with an aftermarket intercooler? ...PR...

    riva recommends YES.... rotax racings recommends NO...

    i will not run one on my ski

    I still don't know what i think personally but i may ditch mine with the new setup due to the overwhelming amount of prestigous people who don't use them.

    Exactly, haha.. i don't know what i think, dont know facts, i just know that the most respected 4-tec tuners don't recommend them... that's enough for me

    same here but after my clutch took a shit i figured i would try it.

    With the BOV on my I burned up two, yes two Clutches (RR that is) and a good Vortex SC impeller. well over $500 bucks down the drain and a good SC impeller. All within about 6 hours of riding time. I had to get a new 05 SC. When the last scutch went out the Vortex sc blades grinded to a hault and bent the shaft. Got the new SC housing on and got ride of the BOV. The BOV will not go back on my ski.

    Wow that sounds pretty harsh. I couldn't say i would agree that the BOV caused that but it definitly is possible.

    yes and as bad as that may sound it is the truth. After I had the RR HD clutch install I also added the BOV ant the same time, went out that sat. for a ride, took it easy on the clutch and even oiled it down befor the install. That Sunday Boom. Mailed it back off got it back in time (next day air) for the next weekend did the same thing took it ease on the new clutch then the motor just went ded. when I got home and pulled the SC the SC impeller had rubben the housing and the gears were shot and locked up. the bearing in the SC were lost in the motor. Took it down to PPG Frizer pulled the motor clean out the oil pumps the bearngs were all down in the sump and had to get a new fly wheel. Put a new 05 SC set up with HD clutch and got ride of the BOV now problems. got back and shes running 72.

    Did you do the installs yourself or have a pro do it?
    I have a bov and everything seems fine so far.
    I do hear a sound when I am turning slight S turns. Sounds like a nitrous being purged or something.

    had it done both times. Third time with new SC housing and Impeller with the RR HD clutch took off the BOV, no problem
