    removing head

I would like to remove the domes on my 98gp800 to check piston wash to get my carbs set up properly. Do I have to replace the gasket each time or is there another option?

I have had great luck with cleaning the gasket and using coppercoat.

You can get coppercoat at any auto parts store. comes in a spray can made by permatex. I reuse my head gasket as long as all the original coating is still around the sealing area at the cylinder I use a light coat of grease if the coating is gone thin I use coppercoat. I use the grease when they are new and they always come off clean Spud turned me on to this he got it from Lowell

Stock head or not,if its not then you could have orings they use grease as well usually last a long time.

Stock head I dont like that copper spray unless its permanent and im not taking it off any time soon.

are you saying the head should have O-rings? or are you saying I should use o-rings to re-seal the head once removed?

Any pics or links would be helpful.
