Jerry, Brendan, couple questions
Did you two get your recent 'bugs' figured out and your speeds back up? What was wrong?
Another question ... been wondering about this one ... Jerry, you are running 77+ with cam, porting and RR ECU. Brendan, you are running 77+ also, but with a stock motor and Riva Stage 2 and taller prop. I can't figure this one out ... most guys are lucky to hit 75 mph with their Stage 2s ... 77+ is fast! Brendan, what other things have you done to your ski?? How much speed did they add??

Yes, i got my supercharger clutch issue resolved. I can run 77+ everytime out on the water now. Very consistant!

So all that BS you had going on before was caused by the SC clutch Jerry?

Yep! Brand new 06 spec clutch. I had to put two shims in it to get it to act right

Damn thats wierd but i guess at the same time it's a blessing that it wasn't something else. I've only done one clutch in my ski, is it common to have to shim them?

Yeah you'll have the blessing of having Sea doo's latest bandaid but you should definitly remember the warning signs becuase i can almost gurantee this won't solve the problem.

It's pretty common to have to come back and shim a clutch after about 10 hours of run time.
Bear in mind that i am spinning upwards of 8400+ RPM's. The stock 06 spec clutch held up to about 8100 RPM's (just as it is supposed to), but it would slip above that keeping me from achieving 8400 RPM's.
If i had to do it all over again i would have just gone the RR heavy duty shaft/clutch kit. It's designed to hold at 8400+ RPM's

Aren't you at risk for a failure when you put more pressure on the clutch via adding shims?

Not as long as the tension is within specs. It is when you put too much tension on it that it could disentegrate.
