    needed a little help

just put a new 2nd piston on my 2001 gpr1200, has good compression on all 3 cyclinders now, but it wont turn over... it is around 64 degree here and thought it might be cold natured? IT SEEMS like its getting no gas but my fuel filter is full, how or what way is the best to prime this machine? the gas is around 8 months old.Jeff

If the gas is that old, you need to drain it and start over. When you get it refilled you just have to crank on it for a while. Make sure the battery is charged and only crank on it for 20-30 seconds at a time and then let the starter cool off. It will take a while but it will start.

Your only option is to siphon it. If you know someone that owns an inboard boat they might have a suction pump to change the oil in their boat. Or you can take it somewhere and let them suck it out for you.

Lowes sells a siphon tube with a brass valve at one end. It starts the siphon by shaking the hose. Its easier if you take the filler tube off the gas tank and put the hose in the top.
