    Price help on a 2000 GP1200R

I am located in Michigan and am in the market for a GP1200R.

I found a 2000 with 58 hours on the clock. I have yet to see the ski or check the compression numbers. It is stock and being sold at a dealers store.

What price do you think I should shoot for assuming the compression checks out?

Thanks for all the help you can give me!

we bought two for 8400. they both had over 100 hours on them. this was before we had any clue about pwc's...one season before the motor blew.

get kelly blue book or nada prices so it helps u fight the dealer

If you go look @ it, look for signs of oil in the hull. If it is already pre-mix, someone took time for preventative measures, or it already had the oil lines come off and may have done some damage. If all is ok and you buy it, go premix or wrap steel wire around each oil line @ the carb so the lines to not back off. The oil lines are a time bomb, or at least that has been my experiance for me and about 5 others i know.
As for price, even with low hours, its seven years old. You should be able to get it for $4000, but like nater said, no more than $4500. I know where there is an 03 1300R with 41 hours for $4500.

    Thanks guys!

    Will a 2000 GP800 keep up this the Gp1200r?

It seems they are all in the same price point.

I want a ski that will close to 60 but has a reliable engine and is solid at speed.

We bought it private party from a 68 year old man. He was asking 4500 and I got him down to 4000 with the trailer. Took about 3 weeks of shoping before I found this one. Keeps up with the 2006 GPR.
Shop around, you will find a deal.

Trailer is for sale if interested pm.
