engines are big air pumps, more air in + fuel = more power. so thhe riva stuff like ribbon delete, cold air intake, rear exit exhaust all help that airflow and than to unlock the potential of the ski and mods you do you need to retune it, r3 isnt good for you with no mods what your looking for is a stage 1 tune with the maptuner.

Thanks RCAB, I think i bought parts from u last year. I can def. get the cold air intake and ribbon delete in. We're does the maptuner want to put me then. Can do ride plate and grate as well.

Ready to order a maptuner if the same nicely prepared. time tested like R&D "reflashes" are available...or are these reflashes all Beta testing at this point?

Heck, R&D has said peeps can see even bigger gains with a bone stock ski with an R4, but new valve springs and retainers are required.

How tuneable has the maptuner been, and how do you know which parameters to tweak without producing too much timing, etc.?

    Thoughts?

R&D is a completely different company than V-Tech
    V-Tech doesn't use R&D tunes, and R&D doesn't use V-Tech tunes.

V-Tech has tunes comparable to the R&D tunes and vice versa.

V-Tech has several maps for you to choose from. You do not have to tweak these maps yourself. They are very well written and proven. They are not BETA maps. These would not be on the market available to the public if this were the case. You simply choose one of the available maps in the list below and load it to your ECU.

Here are the available maps and recommended modifications for each reflash for the SHO skis

    SHO Stage 1 8100 RPM
    RIVA Power Filter
    RIVA Intake Manifold Upgrade
    RIVA Free Flow Exhaust
    RIVA Intake Grate
    Riva Pump Seal Kit
    Solas 13/22R impeller
    RIVA Ride Plate

    SHO Stage 2 8300 RPM
Same components as Stage 1 with the addition of the following parts:RIVA B1 Supercharger Upgrade
    Riva Engine Breather Upgrade
    RIVA Gen 2 Power Cooler
    HKS Blow off Valve
    RIVA Engine Cooling Upgrade Kit

    SHO Stage 3 8600 RPM
Same components of Stage 1 and Stage 2 with the addition of the following parts
    RIVA E1 supercharger upgrade
RIVA Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator
RIVA Stainless Steel 160mm Wear Ring
    Skat Trak 13/18 Impeller
    RIVA Valve Spring Retainer Kit

The MaptunerX system is incredibly easy to use. You can switch between the available maps mentioned above whenever you choose, and even flash back to stock and this costs you nothing extra. This is the MaptunerX bundle package that you would need for your ski. They are currently on sale 10% off

    Hope that helps!

and the best part is you can tune your friends skis if they buy a license no more shipping the ecu off and waiting 7-10 days and also you can reflash back to stock in order for warranty.

Well...we have some good tunes for 1.8HO engines...Cyrille Lemoine was racing the Karujet with our tunes ( and he won in NA catagory)....In that race they made more than 500km in 3 or 4 days....

To get the best performance you need also to replace the impeller and intake manifold upgrade...it´s not a mandatory but it will help.
