question on the ecu on a 1503 4-tec

i was wondering if you could "block" the fuel injection part of the ecu and have it handled with/by another method?

therefore still using the instrument cluster and all the bells and whistles on my gtx ltd?

what about just disconnecting the injectors from the ecu would there be any issues with it?

and then handle the fuel delivery another way?

The piggy back fuel controller takes away the fuel controlling capabilities of the ECU. The fuel controller can be hooked up to a lap top and fuel maps can be adjusted.

You will also need bigger injectors to run with this fuel controller.
No sense in even looking at this mod unless you have an extremely modified ski.

This piggy back fuel controller is built by Rude Performance (Nils Castillo)

i already have 48lbs injectors....... low impeadance..... venom i thnk

i still dont understand why i wont be able to just unhook the injectors and let the ecu think it is running the fuel....... and then the fuel requirements will be met in another way

yep jerry is Green Hulk, the owner of this place.

What he showed you is a piggyback fuel controller. It takes over control of the inectors. You use a laptop to program it. The stock RXP ecu stays there and continues controlling everything EXCEPT the fuel.

what about the gtx ltd....... i have an 05 gtx ltd?

i still dont see what the problem will be id i disconect the fuel injectors from the ecu and control the fuel delivery with another setup?

why do i need a piggyback? i can piggy back off of the current sensors etc that are there for my fuel delivery setup?

    1) You NEED an ECU to deliver your fuel

    "OR"

    2) You NEED a piggy back fuel control unit to take the fuel controlling capabilities away from the ECU. The piggy back offers the ability to load up different fuel maps whereas the ECU is not programmable.

    3) You must be extremely heavily modified before even considering using a piggy back fuel controller and larger injectors as the stock injectors deliver PLENTY enough fuel.

I quickly learned this in my application and have since removed the piggy back and larger injectors.

If you are looking for added performance look for it elsewhere. Adding bigger injectors and a fuel controller is going to do nothing for your GTX.
