I just ohmed the sending unit for the oil. The mfd doesnt read anything. I ohmed it and the sending unit is at about 33to 36 ohms meaning it is reading correctly? the tank is full of oil. does this mean the mfd is not reading correctly?

note: the fuel float is bad thus creating the limp mode its on order.
just would like to have the gauge functional if i can.

I'm assuming you rotated it upward or held it to the top in order to get your reading. Maybe the float sinks in the oil and registers empty to the MFD.
I would invert the sender unit so the sender puts out its roughly 33 ohms, start the engine and then watch the MFD for a moment or two and see if it registers a full oil level.

it reads roughly 33 ohms now with the oil in the tank full, its just that the mfd doesnt read anything no bars at all.

So with the engine running it still shows empty?

If so I'd first check the wiring and make sure there are no breaks or shorts.

Disconnect the harness to the back of MFD, check the ohms from 2 (black ground) to 6 (blue oil sender) at the back of the MFD, what do you get? If it's still about 33 ohms you probably have a gauge issue.
