Thread: Pitch Question

Ok I have done searching and reading but am still kinda confused as to prop pitching.
Here is my deal. With stock prop I was turning 7500 rpm. Just tried a solas concorde 11/19 (only one recommended for the 130hp gti)
I am getting max of 7000, sometimes less now. Top speed is a little better, but that could be due to new wear ring. I have lost a little bit of holeshot.
My question: to get rpms back up can I tweak the solas or do i have to put the stock one back on. My goal was to gain some top speed. Or is it better to tweak the stock one?

I am no prop expert but from what I have read I think you gain 100rpm for every 1mm you take out of the trailing edge of the prop. I would think tweaking the new prop would be better than the stock prop but I could be wrong

It is stock right now. Other than the part that keeps the opas from going down.

That prop needs to be repitched to get the R's back up...Ski will improve after that...

Do you think you can pitch that prop enough to get back a whole 500 RPMS or more?

ok so if prop is pitched to get rpms back up, is it like having a stock prop?
Is there any point to having the solas then?
