i have a new leftover 06 rxt with 3 hours on it. my question is, checking the oil sounds like a little bit of a pain in the butt. how much oil will my ski consume before its 10 hour service, if any? thanks, lenny

I would say none...it should read a little low on the stick when the engine is cold.

If you think checking the oil is a pain in the ass, you probably not going to like changing the oil either

Always check your oil...no matter how much of a pain it is.

It's a 4 stroke, so it shouldn't really "consume" any. Warm the engine up for a minute or two then let it sit for 30 seconds. Check your dipstick to see where your oil level is (should be halfway between the two bends). Changing the oil is a peice of cake too. Only annoying part can sometimes be getting the oil filter cap off, but that's it. Change your oil and plugs at the 10 hour mark. After that you should change your oil and oil filter every 25~30 hours.

How often do you change plugs?

Only if they need changing. I hear the guys running the Denso IXU27 plugs change them like every 100 hours if that. Since my 10 hour service check I currently have 40~45 hours on my current plugs with zero issues.
