    FF plate shimming

Ok, had the plate shimmed already and didn't fill holes b/c i'm still tweaking. my problem is that I sealed my pump with the kit today and now one side seems to need one more shim (to come flush with the shoe) than the other side... i was going to do this but dont want to loctite until I know it won't cause more drag than less... I think you would want them symetrical even if it is not w/ the hull... so this is how I conclude that I should...

    Any opinions?

Take your pump shoe back out and look at the pump seal pieces they should not stick higher than the shoe if they do you have to sand them so they sit a little lower. And the same on the bottom were the intake grate sits. If any questions feel free to give me a ring.

Ben, I know what you mean. The pump shoe on one side sits higher up that the other side. I was trying to figure out that same question, WFO told me to shim the one side to make it the same as the pump shoe.

But if you have the two washers in the front on both sides, then you add one washer to the one part in front to get it straight, do you add one to the same side in the back?

I had the same thing on mine. I put an extra washer in the front on the right side, then i decided wait, i should put on on the back too on that side to make it even.
