XLT1200 handling - Scary!
I was riding my XLT this past weekend and all of a sudden it darted off to the left almost tossing me around 55 mph. The handle bars were straight. It also happened to Jim (OU812) that same day. He did not want to ride it any more! Needless to say this was very scary! The plate and grate are all tight and sealed.
Has anyone experienced this characteristic with the XL/XLT hull? I talked to Jims1300 and he said he has heard of this before. Maybe it's catching a chine.

Sounds like to me you still have the "oe" intake grate.......

It has a pro-tec grate with Jim's XLT FF plate.

I had the same thing happen on my XLL a few years ago when I had the stock grate on there... I was on a river and when it did it caused me to hit a dock at about 30mph... no fun!

Maybe it's the pro-tec grate over stuffing the pump????

No - stock. I just purchased an R & D intake. Maybe that will help

Whats strange Tim is that it only does it in rough water, I had a member tell me that his did the same thing and he found when he would come down on a wave going fast that the noise would drop and catch a chime and it would throw him. He said that he was going to work on the chimes but never heard back from him on his results, But i cant remember his name if you are reading this please reply with any info that you did to your ski.
