    2007 speed trick updates, please input into this thread. THANKS!!!

    Hello,

    I'd like to hear about all of the new current things that people are working on with there 03 - 07 GP 1300R's. I just got done viewing most of the speed tricks postings on Greenhulk. I did notice that alot of tricks were posted for GPR's with carbs. I don't mean to rule anyone out from this posting, but I just want to know about the GP1300R '03 - '07. I just wanted to start a new posting to get everyone up to date with anything new people are trying to gain speed out of there crafts.

    Lets all put our heads together from all of the makes of Yamaha GP1300R's and come up with plain and simple things that we know works

    Hey, what is that product I saw about an oil block off kit? What is this part all about?

    The list of things that work is very long... But EFI specific is the EFI controler from riva/R&D how about rosses "sonic boom" trottle bodies... not much else for just "EFI Boats"

    It covers the hole when the oil pump is removed.

    1200 or 800 grate for speed and safty. Jims FF plate take out you impeller cone,,, get air into the ski,, dplate,Rosses throttle bodies, Leos hull trueing, fill pump shoe holes. good prop, 05 pump etc.. do a search for Phillip Gprs build up not EFI but, alot of the deal is the same..if all else fails take your ski to WFO in Texas or Jims1300 in Florida

    filling holes

    Has anyone tried to fill up the pump shoe, ride plate and trim tab holes with marine silicon? Does this really work in achieving a better top speed? If so, how much did you notice.

    Also, is it better to use stock trim tabs w/ aftermarket rideplate or the performance trim tabs?

    stock tabs are faster... i would only fill the bolts in the pump after it is sealed. you can fill the rideplate holes and trim tabs holes once you have you ski set up.. use 5 min metal epoxy let dry sand smoooth and flush

    How much faster are we talking about for the stock tabs over aftermarket. I want a concrete number in MPH and not wishful thinking. I'm not saying that your exadurating at all, just want concrete numbers thats all.

    Also, how much of a speed gain if any would there be for filling the rideplate holes? AGAIN CONCRETE MPH GAINS

    Here is the build up of what used to be my stock ski - LOL

    On flat flat water fastest to slowest would be (maybe a 2 mph spread)
    no trim tabs
    stockers
    aftermarket
    aftermarket shimmed

    Now if your water isn't flat then the difference diminishes to the point where in certain water conditions the shimmed aftermarket will be fastest
