    how to use primer

hey guys do you pump the primer while turning over motor or do you pump it a few times then turn over the motor?how many pumps does it usually take? when i let my ski sit for a couple of weeks ,i need to put a couple drops of premix in each cylinder to get it to fire, after that it starts every time?

I take the seat off and pump primer until I see fuel entering carbs, the number of pumps depends on how long ski has sat and how far fuel has retreated up the hose. Anyhow, once fuel is at carbs 2 pumps and then turn it over works for me.

even with zero fuel in the lines, if u hold the starter while pumping it will only take a second...

you shouldnt need to put fuel in the cylinders..

I pump the primer until I can feel that it is actually pushing gas. Maybe 2 or 3 times. Than go 2 more, flick the throttle so the gas gets under the carbs, and touch the starter. That's it. You may need a different technique with a gpr because of your side draft set up, but I found that opening the butterflys to get the gas past them is the key.
