Yah they show a 15/19 Skat-Trak swirl on the stage 2, 8300rpm 80mph. There is no way they are getting to 80mph with that prop @ 8300rpm. I have that same impeller, I'm running 72.5 mph at 8100RPM on 3/4 fuel. Give up a 1 mph for riva grate, lets say low fuel give you 2 mph. Let's say another 2mph for 8300. That optimistically gets you into the 77 mph range with a 180lb on the rider on the most ideal conditions.

Then where is the benefit of using this prop?

That's disappointing to say the least.

You're running the 15/19 with those results? may need a re-pitch. I'm not going to use the solas anymore. The vibration when turning and lack of performance with the constant worry of impending doom isn't worth it to me.

Riva is getting 85 at @9k RPM with et135 and cam on the 300 with that impeller ..pretty impressive if true. I'll be running 15/18 in my 260 Frankenstein ski, hopefully I can spin that thing close to 9k.

On another note, how is riva selling all these kits with no flywheel bolts? Stock bolts at 9k RPM must be a ticking time bomb.

FWIW: I tested that Skat 3-blade 15/19 from DinoMite and I knew the first 50FT it wasn't going to work out-of-the-box. The Skat 15/19 is more like a turbo prop when compared to the Solas 13/18 (or 13/15), its VERY aggressive. It was removed within minutes but I got 8370rpm @ 77.7gps without my L13 cone. But if you do the math and if I was "allowed" to re-pitch, I could have got it to 83mph. But because of the shape of the prop, I don't think it can be repitched to what it would take (flower pedals closing).

Its true (that was in spring air which is much denser compared to what we have now). Also, that was utilizing a not in production 161mm 14v Riva/Solas pump (is in the works), and L13 cone. That ski mostly setup for CC and has room IF all you want to chase is top-speed.

(above discussion is with 161mm impellers)

Got to love Rivas description of skat 15/19 on their website...

"Skat-Trak Swirl Impellers deliver increase low-end thrust and top-end speed without vibration. Constructed of high strength stainless steel and made in the USA."

I guess it depends on what the weather was like. On the stock prop, with temps in the mid 70s (water and air) I was at 84 and my RPM never even touched 8700. Camshaft, ET135, 4" kanaflex, flame arrestor removed. This is with the slower RXP-X ...

So, I'd be looking at less 77 with the skat and a stock cone at 8360. How was the low end?

We have very different setups so not sure. I'm on a mod'ed 84mph 4TEC T3 (winter air).

If ANY motor drops 1,300rpm (as I did with that prop), its impossible to expect any good response (low/mid/high). I'm only giving my results with my setup so YMMV.
