    Broken Powervalve Stem

This is the second failure I've had like this with a stock PV. I was talking with Lowell about getting a replacement machined for the 1300 piston. He mentioned that one generation had a brass sleeve and another generation had a steel sleeve, but couldn't remember which is older. Can anyone clarify this? This one has a steel sleeve.

Screw the OEM PV's. I'm going with R&D billet PV's. They're "guaranteed never to break in any condition".

More than likely your adjustment is too tight. Very common for this.

Maybe, but it sure doesn't seem like it. The hole lines up on the wheel when down and the cable has slack per the manual. I also believe that the failure actually occurred on the trailer. The first time it happened, I had just trailered 785 miles up to Michigan. The ski was stock and untouched. This time, the ski ran perfect the previous time out and then was down about 80 RPM off the trailer. It looks like the casting is very porous to me.
