    slt 780 dies part II

I originally thought it was cutting off during turns, but I noticed it was only at higher RPMs. It happened when going straight, also.

I shot around at 30mph all day long w/no problems, but as soon as I throttle higher and the RPMs go up, it would die when I hit ANY rough water. otherwise, throttle response and power is good (47mph w/me and my son)

I'm ignorant here, so bear with me. I think it may be when the high speed jets are kicking in. I'm thinking either a fuel delivery issue from the pump or bad jets. I'm not ruling anything out, so please throw your ideas at me.

    thanks

How do the spark plugs look. Have you done and high speed plug chops?

plugs looked pretty good, but that's after idling back to shore. I'll pull them next time after a hard run. what should I be looking for? I don't understand why it would simply die instead of bog or sputter.

can we rule out issues with the prop or driveshaft?

I am thinking you have a carb issue as you stated. The high speed plug chop should tell. But to be on the safe side you should remove and clean/Rebuild the carbs. Its nice to start fresh.

are the carb rebuilds pretty straight forward? after talking to the local tech, I'm not too confident in his skills.

you don't think it's a fuel pump issue?

The kits can be bought from almost any watercraft dealer. Mikuni SBN You might not need the kits just a good cleaning.
