    need some help guys..

hi guys... i was out riding the virage today,it is a 2002 with 50 hours on her.my question is i was leaking water into the engine compartment where the impeller comes through the hull.she almost sunk.i took it home and fired it up it seems to run alright just leaks like all heck by the shaft.would the through hull fitting be bad or could it be something else...i'm pretty new to the jet ski scene..any suggestions would greatly appreciated ..thanks

The seal may have gone bad, you need to keep that thing greased. I've read you can replace the seals only, but I would replace the whole through hull fitting.

Start filling the hull with water and see where the water exits the hull.

the water comes in right by the shaft..i lifted the seat and could see water pouring in around the shaft....i guess i would have to take the pump out and replace the through hull fitting?what seal were you talking about being greased? the seal in there with the grease fitting is where the impeller shaft comes through? sorry for all the rookie questions..just want to make sure i change the right parts...thanks

9 is the entire assembly, 8 are the seals.

hmmm... that coupler is inside the boat...this looked like water was coming in from that comes shaft comes into the boat...back where the shaft passes through the hull...i don't quite understand about the seals..because they are inside the hull....sorry for all the questions..

Correct, you won't see any kind of seal on the outer edge of the hull where the shaft runs through, just a little cavity.

ok.. another question.. that coupler slides back and forth.is this normal? also do you think i would have to replace through hull fitting also or just the coupler? i guess i would have to take the pump and impeller shaft to do this?..thanks

The coupler? Or the actual thru-hull fitting?
