    Impeller Pitching Questions

Where should the wrench be placed to bend?
Is the diagram correct for increasing and decreasing pitch?
How far do you bend it 1/2mm or 1mm?

Great pics, you have it exactly right!

    Bend in 1mm increments

Oh, another tip.... put your impeller spline tool in the vice and drop the impeller down on it to hold it while bending.

So, when pitching repitching props, only the ends of the 4 blades are being bent as per the pic and nowhere else?

If i learned to do this so can you.

That is the basics of it and you can easily tune your top RPM's as shown above.

With the "cheap" grade of SS used for the impellers, you have practically no chance of hearing that dreaded "crack" sound. The stuff is very soft and having it "hold" a pitch is more of a concern than breaking it should ever be.
The props we use are variable pitch that is measured along the entire length of the blade.. While it may help a little, just bending the tips isn't going to change that much. Only a prop shop with the right equipment and knowledge can get the most out of a prop.
