Another turbo question
I was trying to test the wastegate valve, but was not sure how much pressure it takes to actually open it? I thought maybe I would disconnect that arm and make sure the wastegate isn't stuck. I know there are guys rebuilding turbo's so if the wastegate is stuck there's bound to be a way to free it up. It's pretty rusty but I've seen ones as bad or Worse online that work fine, I even thought about putting some naval jelly or some of that rust coating that turns rusty metal into iron oxide and then painting the realy rusty parts of the valve. I did see a replacement valve from one of the performance ski places for about $60, probably the best bet in this situation. Would be nice to see a pic of the inside of the wastegate if somebody has one they took apart, I'm guessing to get the whole turbo assembly off the motor will have to come out.

Whole works needs to come out. replace the actuator, soak the waste gate in mix of kerosene and ATF fluid, Spray with PB blaster. soak it over night usually does the ,trick.
I sprayed the whole assembly with self etching primer, them painted with cold galvanize paint.
