Smile My GPR sponsons are better than yours !!!!

I love the fact that the stock sponsons stepped helped me stop the bouncing (and washers). But hated the fact I didnt trust the ski to turn HARD without slipping.

I bought these from Danny after seeing his work on the Sea-Doo XP,RXP and GTX sponsons I knew he could make something good for the GPR.

For me it was simple - bolt them on and see if I slowed down. If I didnt and it still didnt bounce and I could turn I would be happy. At the ramp I did just that swapped them within 15 minuted of each other.

I have some issues on the Pump/RPM side so I am barely getting to 71 (GPS) I was not any slower with Danny's but I could turn - there was no bounce period ! I could lean in and I felt like I could keep my weight on the side I was turning to without it spinning out/slipping.

Notice the backing plate is stepped just like the stockers but I have the blades all the way down - I suspect I would be a little faster if the blades were up one notch. I need more seat time to learn where I like them for what conditions etc..But it will be nice to make up my mind and switch them in a few minutes.

These are mounted to a 01 GPR so the notch is there to bypass all the bolt holes. You will have to ask him how it works for the newer ones (without all the bolt holes). I am going to fill the void with some Right Stuff sealant - notice how little I will need around the sides and top (due to a very good fit).

I am not a 1000+ hour GPR guy that knows everything. I have been a SeaDoo owner up until now (RX,GTX,XP). If you want me to test them another way let me know, I enjoy playing around with the stuff on the outside of the hull .

You're welcome Bill! Looks like they fit nice and tight! Can I give them a ride in 2 weeks?

You got them in what I refer to as the "Sweet Spot"...You are getting the best grip while still catching and trapping enough air to get some lift...I would LOVE to see how hey run on the GPR guys doing 80+, I'm gonna bet slightly more speed...SUCKMYWAKE gained little over 1/2mph with his and he was running slightly faster than you......BUT leave them where you are, all the way up really will not gain you any much more speed because of the less trapped air...

Yea, for anyone that wants a set PM me...I'll need to know if your hull has the flush mounted inserts, or the bolted ones like Bill does...because its a WHOLE DIFFERENT build process...

    Danny,
Why do you have three sets of holes?

I can see where four sets would give you front-to-back adj. and still allow four screw attachment but why three?

The configuration that mrbtd has right now (in the picture) is the best mounting location, because it lines up for more than 2 bolts...2 bolts are all that is needed to attach the blade, so no worries...

Post #64, 65, and 68 on this thread show a few mounting locations...

    Thanx, they look nice.

I would not be comfortable with two screws. A fourth set of holes would allow 6 "secure" settings.
