    Did you need them on your "beerdart special" valves you made? I ask because I'm running Hot Seat valves and I would think they would limit the travel on the upper end? I'll check for sure when I pull the head off to check the wash pattern but what is considered the correct travel?

    I also messaged Jeff and showed him the video. He said this sounds normal for a stock 785 so maybe there really isn't anything wrong?

    For reference, I found this video on YouTube as well of another 785 racing...but this one is showing to be a super stock...and the same thing is happening:

    Yes on the BD specials you want them flush with the top of the port when fully open.

    I pulled the head off to check with the piston wash and I must say it is damn near perfect. The PTO may be a bit rich or not quite developed but she pulls the rpm so I'm okay with it.

    All high speeds are just barely cracked open..

    The exhaust valves all open so the are so very close to the port on both the top and bottom.

    As far as your hood popping open, you should consider a set of snowmobile hood tiedowns. Even with a properly adjusted latch, you may find that it still wants to pop open.
