I have the pipes, gas tank and oil tank installed. Just curious how others have routed the water lines to the red manifold? I left a lot of extra hose and I was considering mounting it up high but I am not sure. Any ideas or pictures?

I should clarify...I am running Randy's water routing but I was talking about the mounting of the red distribution bar. I think I've seen some mount up high verses the stock location under the exhaust manifolds.

Thank you! Can't wait for this thing to be finished because it is still 80 degrees here in Houston so I might be able to break it in once I finish it.
Forgot to mention that I drilled a big hole in the exhaust power valve cap on top so I can see when the valves open up. Don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I also drilled a small hole on the bottom to allow water to drain.

Some more progress today.....
Finally got the carbs installed and all plumbed up. Ended up deciding to go to the hardware store and buying some SS lock washers, washers and nuts for the carb bases. My old ones were getting pretty rusty. The fresh paint and new oil and fuel hose looks awesome!
I decided at this point it would be good to go ahead and do a compression test. There is plenty of assembly oil I used so these numbers may be a little high but I'm glad they aren't reading low!! MAG: 142 psi; CEN: 155 psi; PTO: 152 psi. I'm certain they will come down to around 130 psi once the rings break in.
And for the finale! SHE LIVES!!!! I poured some premix into the carbs and this is the very first crank I've done since the rebuild so she fires right on up.
I'm hoping another day or two and I'll have most of everything back together. I do need some advice.....one of the thread inserts in the hood pulled out. My first thought is to maybe drill it out some to get good material, fill it up with epoxy and drill out a hole slightly larger than the insert. I would then epoxy that insert back in somehow making sure I don't get epoxy in the threads.....any other ideas??
