Front hatch Shock RXT
Any tips or tricks to installing a new front hatch shock on the RXT?
I've tried everything!!! I can't get the shock to compress so I can hook it up.
gettin frustrated with that and the new mods. have everything taken apart and nothin installed yet!!!!!!!!!!!

Hook up everything but the crome rod into the hood, then use a 1/2 inch drive ratchet in the hole in the plate and turn the ratchet to compree the shock untill you can slide the rod into the hole. It is very easy, the hole in the plate was put there for this purpose.

You got to lossen the 2 bolts on the hinge mechanism to give you the extra 2 inches. Once you get the shock on the ball joint use the leverage of the hatch to line up the same two bolts. Carefull not to scratch the paint off the hood front. This worked well on my rxp when the shock busted.

THANK YOU Steve !! I knew there had to be an easy way. I was even looking at that hole and wondering why it was there. LOL
And I have to say. the aftermarket shock is much better. It's completely covered with a rubber tube. the original was all exposed and it rusted out.
