    Riva washers

    Why do you need a 2006 shaft for their washers are they a different diameter?????????? my dealer put them in my 05 and didnt say anything about anew shaft???should I run the ski? or will I do damage??

    Yes,the 06 SC clutch is bigger (heavy duty),jerry upgraded both my 04 rxps with the 06 clutch kit to put the metal washers on them.I thank the 04 and 05 are the same clutch size,not big as the 06 clutch.

    you'll be fine. they prob took care of it.

    i would certainly call and confirm they put them on an '06 shaft as it's thicker than previous years. that is unless your sc'er already had the upgrade at an earlier time.

    but if they didnt change the shaft will I damage the S/C is it safe to ride or will it just effect performance????????? and some where I red that Riva is discontinuing the titanium coated washers?????? WHY???????whats wrong with the TI coated washers??

    the coated washers glaze over and prematurely slip needing shimming or replacement. most likely replacement because these mythical shims are nowhere to be found.

    edit: this is one of many reasons we use Jerrys washers.

    the inner diameter of the 2005 washers are smaller than the 2006, so the 2006 washers will go on the 2005 shaft but they don't fit properly and it will probably fly apart pretty quickly if they didn't put in a 2006 shaft kit.

    The only difference is the thickness. If they put 06-07 on an 04-05 shaft it will have somewhere like 12lb slip.
