    extended ride plate benefits???

I see a lot of skis on here where people have changed ride plates. What kind of gains would I see I put one on my sl780???? I found one that is extended 1.5 inches longer than my stock plate and it has 6 vains on it. Should I put it on or not?

Can you verify the statement 6 vanes on it?
The ride plate sits under the hull and should have no "vanes".
The stator for the pump assembly has the term "vanes" 5,6,8 and sometimes even 12.

Ski is a 96 sl780 The ride plate has 6 raised ridges on the bottom to where my stock one is completely flat. Sorry for the confusion here.

    Sounds right
You will find better handling characteristics and better straight line tracking but may loose a little top speed as the plate will push the nose down just a hair.

We're assuming it's an OP by an odd description. Can you get a pic of the plate?
