    how many bolts are there to remove carbs

    gp1200r. plez help wont move i got 7 bolts out

    I do believe there are only six bolts (2 per carb) needed to get them off.

    Try covering with a cloth a tapping with rubber mallet, they may just be stuck.

    two per carb. Don't try to take the ones on the reed plate off you will neverf get to them with the carbs on. Look at the yamaha catalog and see the two I am talking about. Part number 90105-08m86-00 look at the intake picture on boats.net for the pic of that part number.

    Just learned this myself this weekend. I tried to take all the bolts off that hold the reeds on thinking they also held the carbs on.

    10 bolts total

    2 on the top of each carb (6)
    2 in between each carb (4)

    + fuel lines, pulse lines, cables ect...

    Ditto what RX951 says and save those little black allen wrench retention caps on the end of the allen bolts they are a huge help when you re-install.

    ahh harbor freight so they look cool but you can snap them of inside the handle with minimum effort!
