I know a lot of people that use quickbooks for thier business. I prefer Peachtree.

They are both very simple once you get past the small learning curve. If I were you I would go out and get quickbooks right away. If you are using excel or a pencil an paper now. You will get lost in no time.

We use Quickbooks. It works well for a product based business like your business, not as well for a service based business like mine. This has to do with the reporting capability, labor vs. materials. It is not at all like Quicken, in that it is not very intuitive (user frinedly) so you may need someone who knows it well to set it up and teach you the basics. It handles tax time reporting very well. We're using the corporate client/server version. The more basic versions may be easier to learn. But if you can crack a SD ECU, then this program should be a walk in the park for you!

Watch out for the secretary/bookkeeper who is the only one who knows the bookkeeping software. I can't tell you how many collegues of mine have found out the hard way that temptation + sole knowledge of the books = disappearing $$$.
