GPS download of lakes for MudBug

I use a GPS on my ski and have my region downloaded, I would have to pay for another region but I would like to know if the lakes and water ways we will be riding are marked and mapped I dont want to pay for that region if there is no information on the lakes, anyone know?

I just checked Garmins website and I cant find any products that include maps for LA so I guess I will have to depend on regular paper maps

Yes Garmin has Charts for area

I use Mapsource which work on Garmins. You load it to your
PC, it has total North America on CD. You then unlock the region
you want. You buy CD for $140, gets you one region. 2nd I think
    is $90.

    Government Chart Set

Bluewater Mapsource maps are based on the actual US government
paper charts. As you zoom in and out it draws on the right chart
    to display on screen.

You get everything that regular marine charts have.

I attached a sample output of John Pennekamp Park HQ. You
have the option to display different levels of detail. In this case
I said give me the max on the 1 mile scale.

That pix I showed of Gulf of Mexico has lots of charts. THe link
shows (scroll down) the actual chart it is drawing from and the last
    update.

The only upgrade from here is to get the version with underwater graphics and satellite photos of key harbors/channels/ports. A handheld Garmine
doesn't have a big enough display to see all the goodies.

Get a big boat and put all this up on a high rez 26" LCD and you can
navigate an aircraft carrier and dock it within a foot or so!
