Can you paint the RXP ride plate

After filling the holes and sanding mine looks like crap. I know nobody see's it but I'm a perfectionist. Is it possible to spray paint it black without any cooling issues? I would think it would be just fine since heat will dissipate through spray paint

sand it more.... sand it smooth, sand it to a shine if you want to make it look more uniform throughout

paint isn't gonna hurt it, but i still think it's a waste of a time and a matter of time before it starts flaking off and corroding off.

or.. they sell anodization in a can (which is what the rideplate is, anodized aluminum) ....

cool, thanks shibby. I may just spray a light coat of flat black on it so it looks normal again.

Would painting it reduce the heat exchanging that is required? I would think for maximum cooling you would want to leave it unpainted ...

for such a thin coat of spray paint, it isn't gonna affect anything, it's still gonna get cooled plenty

if you starting painting it with anti-fouling bottom paint u'd see a difference, not from a mist of spray paint

i wouldn't spray mine, jsut bc it's a waste of time and a matter of time before its all off, but it's not going to hurt anything if someone would feel better about doing it

go to a boating store and get black engine and outdrive enamel... that's probably your best bet that will actually last...

i still think u should get under there and just sand the whole plate smooth
