allows you to trim up higher gaining top speed.

It gets the bow up more = less ski in water = less drag = more speed.

this is a somewhat related question.....I usually ride with my trim in the center........would having the indicator all the way at the top be better for top speed?

just above center is the way to go for top speed. trimmed all the way up loses efficiency

So theres no point in putting the wedge on an RXP since it has VTS?

no...the wedge redirects the entire pump upward. the vts is simply a nozzle at the back of the pump that redirects the water. you can change the handling characteristics by moving the VTS, however at some point the water gets slowed down by being redircted.

VTS it's like trying to redirct air from a fan with your hand. you can do it a little but the more you hold your hand at an angle the less air you get. adding the wedge is like turning the whole fan instead of trying to redirct the air.

very good write up.....if anyone is still confused you might as well put down the wrench and go back inside

So if you get the wedge do you have to get the VTS extension rod?
