    Not at all, 8 is likely correct. The hull is fiberglass, made with an imprecise process.

    Hi are these numbers in mm shims or are they standard size each shim?

    The factory alignment shims are a standard thickness. I forget the actual dimension, but it has been listed somewhere in here in the past.

    Rather than depending on the factory shim counts, the proper method is to use an alignment tool to determine the correct number of spacers for each corner of the engine. Over time the hull can change shape and the engine mounts can compress slightly.

    If the engine has been lifted, it can shift on the mounts when bolted back down keen though the spacers are the same.

    Sometimes an alignment tool can be rented or borrowed from another member. My approach is to request an up front deposit for more than the tool is worth. When the tool is returned undamaged, the deposit is returned, less the cost of shipping and any shims that are used.



    In addition to the alignment tool itself, you will need extra shims and the impeller removal tool.
