    97 GTI carbon ring

Hello first and formost this site is great, thank you to all!!!!

I have a 97 seadoo gti my carbon ring on the drive shaft cracked and it flooded the hull overnight in the water. what a pain!

is it hard to replace that? do i have to have a special tool to realign the driveshaft. do i need to realign it when i put it back in? any help would be awsome thanks in advance

Grab the SS ring (what mates up to the carbon ring) and grasp firmly while sliding it rearward toward the carbon ring. You'll expose a C-clip, pop it off with a small screwdriver. Remove one of the rubber PTO clamps, I do the small one and replace with a zip-tie. Pull the pump, and the driveshaft will now slide right out. Loosen the worm clamp and replace the carbon ring. reinstall parts. Job done.

No need to loosen the engine or worry about alignment.

I got it all a part. it was pretty simple easer than i thought thanks for the tips. I inspected the wear ring and it has some pretty big nicks in it so i'm going to have to replace it. the impeller has some cavitation, its rough around the edges. i was thinking i should spend the money and get a stainless steel wear ring and impeller......

Send the impeller for the "Works" @ www.impros.com

Replace the stock wear ring back with a stocker. For your application...which isn't high performance, the neoprene does fine.
