    Thanks god those valves do not hit the piston's when the chain goes.

    when the chain broke it just shut down cold turkey, and I guess at just the right piston positions...

    They do hit the pistons. That's why they are bent like pretzels.
    Rarely do they damage the pistons though.

    Wait, you still have the rocker shaft in place which is holding some of the valves open. Jag, remove the rocker shaft and see if you can still see daylight from some of the valve seating areas.

    Ooops, too late...she's boxed up and headed to PPG - going to get a makeover with some new goodies.
